President Harley Zomer's Report

Hello from Grand Valley Woodcarvers (GVWC)

We have just concluded another wonderful year.  We completed 2 separate projects, one group did killdear's under Zenon's leadership and the other group did snowy owls with Jim teaching.  Thank you to both of our instructors.   It is a testament to your teaching skills that club members always did well no matter what carving show the projects were entered in.

As a club we put on the Canadian National Wildfowl Carving Championship at Rim Park.  Please click on the link (located on this web site) to see out show results.   Next years show will be March 15 - 17, 2019.  Come on out if you are in the area.

Next year we will be carving an African Pygmy Falcon under the leadership of Uta Strelive. Her falcon was the winner of the Canadian Masters Class-4 Section at the 2018 Canadian's Nationals.  We are looking forward to learning a great deal this year.

The club will be starting up again in early September 2018 after having the summer off.   If you are at all interested - come on out.   Meeting location is on the web site and we meet every Thursday starting at 6:30pm.

See you there .
