Canadian National Wildfowl Carving Championship

Opportunity to Sell Your Carvings

At the 2009 Canadian Nationals competition in the KW Wood Show, carvers will have the opportunity to sell their carvings to visitors attending the KW Wood Show.

Sellers:

Each carver who wishes to offer one or more carvings for sale at the show must complete an “offer to sell” form for each carving to be offered for sale.  The carver must decide what the selling price should be.  The selling price must include the Canadian GST (Goods and Services Tax) and the Ontario Sales Tax, if either of these is applicable.  If the carver wishes to sell the carving for a lower price should the opportunity arise, the carver should indicate the lowest price which will be accepted on the offer to sell form.

A Grand Valley Woodcarvers Club member will be at the Carvings for Sale table at all times during the duration of the KW Wood Show.  If a person wishes to buy a carving, they must pay for it by cash or cheque (with identification) to the Grand Valley Woodcarvers Club member who is in charge of the sales table at that time.  The Grand Valley Woodcarvers Club will deduct a 5% selling commission from the purchase price and issue a cheque to the seller for 95% of the selling price.

Any carver who is interested in selling one or more carvings at the next Canadian Nationals should contact one of the following people in advance of the show, to make arrangements for selling their carvings at the show:

·       Peter McLaren at 519-579-5546 or pemcl@golden.net

·       Don Price at 519-271-7089 or dprice@golden.net

Carvers are advised to notify Peter or Don with a list of the carvings which they wish to offer for sale in advance of the next Canadian Nationals competition.  If the selling price is known, it should be indicated in the communication to Peter or Don.  If a photo is available, it should also be sent to Peter or Don.

Prior to the next Canadian Nationals, all information which is available for carvings to be offered for sale will be posted on this web site.  The more information you provide, the more interest you may generate among potential purchasers.

Buyers:

Anyone interested in purchasing one or more of the carvings which is being offered for sale at the Canadian Nationals carving sales table should make the interest known to the Grand Valley Woodcarvers Club member who is in charge of the sales area at that time.  The carving will be sold to the first person who offers to purchase a particular carving and pays for the requested purchase price in full by cash or cheque to the GVWC member in charge of the sales table.  Post-dated cheques, debit payments, and credit card payments will not be accepted.

Buyers who wish to know what carvings are available for sale should check this web site occasionally and check it regularly during the month prior to next year’s Canadian Nationals.
